Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-26
Plain English
Use the API for aggregate statistical analysis, not for decisions about specific individuals.
The service is a closed pilot, provided as-is, with no SLA. We can revoke your key if you misuse it. Probability estimates can be wrong, especially for rare names — confidence below 0.6 means the model is guessing.
1. Acceptance
By using the Nomacore API ("the Service") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. The Service
Nomacore provides a probabilistic estimation API. Given personal names as input, it returns statistical distributions over country of origin, gender, demographic categories (US Census 2010), and age. It also returns deterministic socioeconomic context for US ZIP codes from public datasets.
The Service runs as a single VPS in the EU and is currently in closed pilot. Access is granted by the operator via email request.
3. The output is a statistical estimate, not a fact
Predictions are aggregated over public reference datasets and are expressed as probability distributions. They reflect statistical tendencies in those datasets, not characteristics of any individual.
Do not use Nomacore to make decisions about specific individuals — including but not limited to hiring, lending, insurance pricing, housing, or law enforcement. The Service is intended for aggregate analysis, market research, data quality, and similar workflows.
4. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the Service to discriminate against individuals on protected characteristics.
- Submit personally identifying data beyond names (e.g., government IDs, contact details).
- Reverse-engineer the underlying lookup tables, scrape outputs systematically, or attempt to reconstruct the training corpus.
- Resell, sublicense, or expose the Service to third parties as a hosted offering without written permission.
- Probe for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure context.
5. API keys and quotas
Each issued API key has a monthly credit quota. Different endpoints consume
different credits (most are 1; /predict/all is 3;
/predict/batch charges per input). Exceeding the quota
returns HTTP 402 until the next month rolls over. You're responsible for keeping
your key secret; if leaked, contact us to rotate it.
6. Service availability
The Service is provided on a best-effort basis with no SLA during the pilot phase. We aim for >99% uptime; we don't guarantee it. Planned maintenance and outage notifications go to the email address associated with your account.
7. Privacy
Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy. Submitted names are not stored — they're processed in memory and discarded when the response is returned.
8. Disclaimer and liability
The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Probability estimates can be wrong, especially for rare names; we make no representation that any specific output is accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the fees you have paid us in the preceding 12 months (currently EUR 0 during the pilot).
9. Termination
We may revoke an API key at any time, with or without notice, if we have reason to believe these terms have been violated. You may stop using the Service at any time by ceasing to make requests and asking us to revoke your key.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Significant changes will be communicated via email to the address on your account. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
